West Chester’s Night in White

Helping Children with Life’s Basic Necessities

Thank you all, attendees and sponsors, for raising over $75,000 for our local charities! We look forward to seeing you again on Saturday, Aug 24, 2019!

Since 1996 this event has been celebrated in one form or another, and since our first year in West Chester back in 2012, WC Summer Soiree has become a staple of the season. We hope you’ll consider joining us or sponsoring the event to help raise funds for these worthy causes…

The Mission of the historic Charles A Melton Arts and Education Center is to contribute to the quality of life for all children of the greater West Chester community by continuing its long commitment of providing educational, recreational, cultural and civic services. The New Directions program, started in 2010, is an affordable academic skill building and recreational program for Kindergarten through 6th grade students. Our program utilizes West Chester University & local high-school students who have plans to become teachers, social workers, and childcare professionals. This allows them to get experience working with children as tutors, coaches and mentors. We have already produced 7 teachers.
Kidneedsis dedicated to the study of Dense Deposit Disease (DDD), an ultra-rare auto-immune disease that attacks the kidneys. 100% of donations made to Kidneeds is used towards funding scientific research that will lead to an effective treatment of this disease. Because Kidneeds does not have a fundraising arm, a local family whose son suffers from DDD has formed “Brian’s Buddies” to raise awareness and money to find a cure. “Brian’s Buddies” directs all donations to Kidneeds.
Working in partnership with the Chester County Family Academy, a charter school in WC, our proceeds offer low income families food and clothing during the summer months, backpacks full of school supplies, and new books for children.
